Dept. of Defense Program Manager Coming to Salt Lake

Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014

What: Mr. David Sikora, Program Manager for the Air Force SBIR-STTR program will make a presentation with Q&A. Mr. Sikora manages a $300 million budget for the Air Force SBIR/STTR program whose mission is to serve the technology needs of the Air Force warfighter by stimulating small business technology research while providing the government with cost-effective technical and scientific solutions to challenging problems.

Mr. Sikora previously served as the Air Force Technology Transfer program manager and has a wealth of experience leveraging industry, academia, and private sector research. Before entering government service, he worked as a design/project engineer in the paper machine and environmental equipment industries.

Who: Any DoD applicant or any SBIR-STTR applicant will benefit from the knowledge and insights of Program Managers. No matter your involvement with SBIR-STTR’s – this is a not-to-be-missed opportunity.

SBIR 101

The SBIR-STTR Assistance Center (SSAC) staff will provide an overview of the SBIR-STTR program, what it takes to win these non-equity position dollars and how they help double your chances of winning. Held the second Wednesday of each month, as well as the fourth Tuesday of August, September and October, (see times below) you will learn how this Federal grant program helps small technology companies with their research and development. Attendees will gain an overview of the agencies involved, learn if their company and technology are applicable and how to avoid missteps in applying for these competitive grants as well as ‘front-door’ approaches to success.

Cost: No charge for this workshop, and seating is limited
