USTAR Internship

Position Summary:  These full-time/part-time positions will be filled by students that will work closely with any of the USTAR Innovation Areas.  The qualified individuals will have an understanding of the entrepreneurial process and steps whereby new ventures seek and obtain funding. This can be an opportunity for interns to gain knowledge of cutting edge technologies that have been or are being developed at our universities, work with an entrepreneurial director and with exciting emerging companies and to interface with top ranking  government officials, university professors and administrators and industry professionals.

A USTAR intern may be an undergraduate or a graduate student.

A USTAR intern may have exposure to the following opportunities:

Interfacing with entrepreneurs, attending networking events

Working on special projects

Marketing analysis

Business Management

Entrepreneurship

Business strategies and concepts

Analyze concepts and ideas that have the potential to create disruptive companies

Explore facets of the entrepreneurial startup process

Research clusters and develop competitive road maps

Assist in enhancing USTAR and its partners

Exposure to exciting technology and commercialization best practices

Director of Undergraduate Biotechnology Research at Utah Valley University.

One year, grant funded position. Establish policy structure for a Non-Profit Contract Research Organization; set up a laboratory for Biotechnology undergraduate student research; liaise with Biotechnology firms to identify and implement student research projects and internships; coordinate and supervise research partnerships between Biotechnology students and industry; assist in preparation of grants and proposals; supervise support staff and mentor student research projects.
